Old Colony Council runs a Venturing Camp offering
(5) Focus Programs:
(Scouts choose one program for the week)
- PADI SCUBA Certification
FULL DAY (add $250*)
Graduates will be PADI certified and receive all documentation to SCUBA Dive independently. Additionally,
they will complete the requirements of the Venturing “SCUBA” elective. The course will involve two (2) days of
off site dives, one in the ocean. Program participants will have to complete a medical screening form and be
physically qualified. The program will include classroom and practical training by certified PADI instructors
from Diver’s Market, Plymouth. All will have to buy or rent a mask, fins and snorkel package
(discount available through Diver’s Market, more info on instruction please call 508-746-3483).

- BSA/Red Cross Lifeguard Certification
FULL DAY
This program is the Boy Scouts of America/International Red Cross Pond Lifeguard Certification which
qualifies graduates for employment at beaches and pools. CPR (offered at Camp to those without
certification), strong swimming skills and good physical shape are recommended prerequisites. The course will
complete the requirements for the Venturing “Lifesaver” elective.

- C.O.P.E./Climbing
MORNING SESSION
C.O.P.E. (Challenging Outdoor Personal Experience) is made up of group initiative games, low and high course elements. Participants climb, swing, balance, jump, and think of solutions to various scenarios.
Climbing practices on our bouldering wall and 40’H wall. Both activities are challenge-by-choice.

With Mountain Boarding, Blacksmithing, Cooking, Search and Rescue, & More!
All campers will receive First Aid, CPR certification, Venturing Orientation & Youth Protection, Venture
Youth Leadership Training, and a week of great co-ed outdoor fun!
During this week the only Scouts in camp are those attending the Venture Week or the Eagle Week programs.
Adult leaders attend to help run the program and stay in the camp site with the Scouts. There are fewer
of the regular camp staff attending that week, because it is near the end of the camp season. Venturers
will sleep in platform tents and dine in the Camp Dining Hall.
